Music is believed to be the language of feelings whether it be negativity, sadness, happiness, sorrow or joy and many different types of music make us feel different ways. Having a listen to Netherlands own AN AUTUMN FOR CRIPPLED CHILDREN will take you on a emotional rollercoaster. Try Not To Love Everything You Destroy is the follow up EP to their 2013 full length titled Try Not to Destroy Everything You Love which was a beautiful masterpiece. By all means if you have not heard the full length, it is almost not even in the black metal realm because of the ambient tones and sound is not what you would think of when you think of black metal. The vocals are pretty much the only thing that held the black metal sound together but with the EP, the creativity of the group continued to flow and added to their already amazing collection.

With the EP only consisting of two tracks and being almost eleven minutes long, this is a short but sweet release to those used to the usual post-black metal releases. The songs cross between multiple channels such as doom metal riffs that drone, tremelo picked black metal and even ambient interludes that feature keys and tones that one would not even associate with the black metal genre. The opening self titled track alone goes from feelings of sorrow to ethereal calm without even a breath of hesitation while the second track begins with what one would expect in an ambient black metal track would sound like before going into a beautiful and grandeur interlude. The musicianship between the group is amazingly brilliant with tempo changes, creative ambiance, and unique song structures.

One can expect more from the band in coming time but till the next full length Try Not To Love Everything You Destroy will suffice as what we can expect from the group. This EP may be short and sweet but within those almost eleven minutes, you will go through every emotion and want more of it. Till the next album, take a moment to listen to their previous releases to truly appreciate this EP.
