The death metal world is reeling at the loss of Deeds of Flesh founding member and Unique Leader Records CEO Erik Lindmark, who has passed away at the age of 46. Many bands and artists have expressed sorrow and gratitude towards Erik, expressing sadness at his loss but also honoring his contribution to the underground death metal scene. Sad news come from the Ukrainian mountains today, as pagan black metal act Paganland just lost their former drummer Tur, real name Andrii Kopylchak. He was behind their drum kit from 2000-2005, 2013-2014. The band announced the news via Facebook.
Blackened death metal band Diocletian have confirmed that they will have a new album coming out next year. The album’s details are still under wrap, but Profound Lore Records will be releasing it. Profound Lore posted the following on their Facebook page: “New DIOCLETIAN album imminent, 2019. All hail the return of the Doom Cult!” Diocletian’s last album “Gesundrian” was released in 2014 via Osmose Productions.
Technical death metal band Inanimate Existence have confirmed that work on a new album has officially finished. Abominable Putridity have released their first new song since 2012’s “The Anomalies of Artificial Origin”. “Supreme Court” is now available on streaming platforms, as well as the Slam Worldwide YouTube channel, where the song was debuted. While there’s no telling if this is part of an upcoming album at the moment, we’ll have to wait and see if anything is announced by the band or Unique Leader Records.
