DESECRATE THE FAITH – Unholy Infestation

Desecrate The Faith are a brutal death metal band formed in 2012 from Houston, Texas and are back with the sophomore album effort titled Unholy Infestation released on March 3rd 2017 through Comatose Music and is the follow-up to their debut full-length Disfigured Arrangement. With this album, they’ve taken their Anti-Religious themed lyricism and nasty Brutal Death Metal compositions alongside a very destructive, incredible and varied Death Metal/ Slam material that’s absolutely monstrous. This Texan band also features dominating atmospheres of chaotic, brutalized and bloody signatured melodies that are far beyond measured and precise within the production value Unholy Infestation is presented. There’s also traces of Suffocation, Dehumanized, Antropofagus, and Cerebral Extinction influences carrying their own weight into a world filled with disgustingly heavy instrumentals and the chemistry represented on Unholy Infestation is without question, a massive improvement both musically and lyrically.

I would also like to point out the album heavily focuses on slow-pitched atmospheres, Slamming Brutal Death Metal institutions and complex new school sounding soundscapes. From the songwriting, memorable structures of aggressive musicality, lyricism, production and originality, Desecrate The Faith’s Unholy Infestation is a album any Brutal Death Metal fan will be heavily on guard to witness a genre so fresh and fully capable to comprehend the band’s naturalist progression to date. It’s got technical riffs, merciless blast beats, putrid vocals and abrasive/ bizarre messages to showcase artistic and stylistic territories to unleash a wrath so distinguished you’ll be wandering what in the hell did I even listen to? Overall, Unholy Infestation by Desecrate The Faith is a compromising record that doesn’t describe the music as brainless but it is a fairly decent album start to finish and to any Brutal Death Metal fan will enjoy for what it stands.

Overall Score: 7.5/10
