FIRST FRAGMENT Provide Update On New Album

It’s been two years since First Fragment’s debut full length, “Dasein”, was released, and the band has offered a fairly comprehensive update on the status of the follow up.

On their Facebook, the band posted the following:

“Album 2 update : Good progress has been made recently. We wrote another long one : A 15 minute-long unstoppable barrage of neoclassical frenzy and fretless bass shredding. Lots of tempo variations due to riffing sections influenced by various forms of extreme metal, power metal and even extremely slow death/DOOM riffs (No clean vocals/orchestration on these, just extremely sad slow riffs with a neoclassical edge) and it is absolutely cohesive, never ventures into riff salad territory. Like a longer, more varied Gula and amongst the band’s strongest tracks ever. Getting closer to the finish line, guys. Roughly 40 minutes of material so far, not counting other unused tracks that may or may not end up on this release, and more new material will be written soon. Hopefully this will be a 2020 release as we will probably record sometime in 2019.”

First Fragment will be playing the release show for Beyond Creation’s new album, as well as opening for Obscura on their European tour early next year with Fallujah and Allegaeon
