ABADDON INCARNATE – The Wretched Sermon

Hailing all the way from Ireland, Abaddon Incarnate is a extreme metal band that have such a explorative, experimented and caustic sound that will surely meet fan’s expectations. This album has a quintessential hybrid blend of death metal and grindcore with little traces of thrash guitar rifling and some atmospheric passageways making these songs staggering and fascinating all at the same time. With this record also being released through the almighty label of Transcending Obscurity Records, Abaddon Incarnate went above and beyond to incorporate many styles and techniques into having such frantic and chaotic leads of eviscerating and expressive signatures stringing them together to have such a unique transition and even adding a climax with heavy breakdowns marking this a unstoppable force.

There’s moments on this album where the band is heavily influenced by early Wormrot, Nasum, Rotten Sound and Napalm Death in which to me I can definitely assure that their compositions and songwriting is infused with infectious melodies and groovy undertones with the vocals, bass, guitars and drums are all complimented with one another giving every instrument and soundscape a chance to shine throughout the album’s moodiness into a much more dominated and yet technical driven approach the band’s going into. Songs such as Killing Spree, Parasite, Gateways, Isolation And Decay and Resurrected From A Mass Grave really showcases the band’s most reckoning and potent material they’ve done to create making these songs energetic, heavy and unsettling and the best part about it is every song provides the listener something different this time around to improve their expressiveness and nauseated themed music a relevant record for many generations to come. I was pleasantly surprised to hear a band from Ireland and Abaddon Incarnate’s The Wretched Sermon is one of the most standout grindcore and death metal releases of 2022.
