WARDAEMONIC – Acts Of Repentance

Wardaemonic are a upcoming black metal band from Australia that’s new to the underground world of extreme music and with 2020’s Transcending Obscurity Records release for Acts Of Repetance, this is the mightiest material they’ve done to date. From unadulterated layers of monstrous drums, patterned vocals, solid bass, tight instrumentals and atmospheric signatures of excellent compositions, these Australians have increased their game by increasing the brutality and technical support by a thousand and created a fantastic album. This is top-shelf black metal release that’s uncompromising and steely in its own approach, backed with enough experience to make this memorable and also intriguing enough to keep coming back the more and more as I listened to it. The album has a greater sense of progression and flow to it than the often angular or suffocating textures of the aforementioned artists such as Immortal, Mayhem, and even Angelcorpse to a extent.

Wardaemonic doesn’t seem to push many boundaries or to retain a aesthetic sound where the instrumentals provided here are audible, sharp and clear where the mixing can often times be little unpolished but the music here is where it truly shines upon listening to the release. Commanding vocals, assaulted drum fillers, killer tones and experienced practitioners in the black metal scene makes Wardaemonic a lookout for the genre and generations to come. Acts of Repentance is menacing, ghoulish, and a unreal landscape that will be suitable, atmospheric and nightmarish for years and decades to come.
