HEAVY META – Mana Regmata

Active since 2017, Heavy Meta are an American band that resides from Lowell, Massachusetts and to be perfectly honest, this is a artist I never would ever thought I was gonna be enjoying their style of music. Truth be told, Heavy Meta are one of the most exciting, experimental and engaging bands I’ve heard in a very longtime. To describe their sound is taking elements of progressive metal, rock, mathcore, hardcore and avantgarde but in a modernized sort of sound. This record may not entirely be suitable for anyone’s interest but as someone who’s generally opened to all forms of metal and music as a whole, I have really appreciated the beauty and nature behind the record and seeing what type of approach Heavy Meta was taken into this album.

From the wonderful harmonics, atmospheric layers of breathtaking melodies and a production so complex and accessible, most of these songs are packed with catchy grooves and containing tracks that are raw, progressive almost blackened in a sense where they’re a experimental artist in showcasing the artistic talent these musicians are understanding in which give or take the amount of creativity and uniqueness is really what engaged with me. Songs like Worms, Two Fly and Caffeine Casket for example has a desire to make something not only different but keeping the progression, instrumentals and deliverance at a consistent level where it doesn’t stray away the craftsmanship. Even the secondary half of the record I get a wide variety of influences whether it be the abstract and thought-provoking sounds of The Dillinger Escape Plan, or the metallic hardcore and alternative styled arrangements of Converge to the hard-hitting, aggressive and frenetic harmonics of Every Time I Die and the progressive rock and metal signatures of Faith No More, this album really demonstrates the listener to bring all various genres together to really blend and craft the everlasting depths and qualities in what Heavy Meta is all about.

Even the artwork speaks for itself since it is a conceptual record about science fiction, outer space, philosophy and human life which give or take the lyricism may seem to feel little weak as many bands done it before but for Heavy Meta, they have established themselves to be a household name in the realms of music. Mana Regmata is a unorthodox, passionate, energetic and compelling album that takes time and patience to really get a glance what Heavy Meta’s style of music is all about.
