THE KENNEDY VEIL – Imperium

I’ve been a The Kennedy Veil supporter since 2015 after discovering 2014’s Trinity Of Falsehood which was an incredible Technical Death Metal release start to finish. Fast forward to 2017 we have a new album on the horizon titled Imperium from these Californian musicians. Right where Trinity Of Falsehood left off, Imperium is a very well descriptive album showcasing the band’s most punishing and utterly destructive material to date. Musically speaking, the album is heavily influenced from Origin, Devourment, Suffocation and The Faceless featuring a more moderate, relentless rapid firing musical assaults and sparse instrumentation dazzled by total annihilation. From the progressive structures, stomping technicality, elaborate melodies and fast-paced guitar riffage, Imperium compensates many leaps and bounds as the album polarizes with Necrophagist inspired hooks, wide diversity from the vocals and audible instrumentals are extremely presentable to hear it’s counterparts are beyond incredible.

Imperium also features some well known guests including Trevor Strnad from The Black Dahlia Murder, Sven de Caluwé of Aborted and Infant Annihilator’s Dickie Allen all done such an magnificent job displaying their innovative ranges keeping the album a rather more exotic listening experience. Perhaps the most favored highlight on Imperium is the craftsmanship from these Californian prodigies as they present every musical component and signatures are perfectly complimented within the album’s glorified production and mixing department. There’s weaving amounts of classical infused structures, blackened death style melodic tones and foreboding a wretched, apocalyptic atmosphere to unleash such powerful content. While The Kennedy Veil’s Imperium brings out a mixture of tremendous metal savagery and a eerie presence to the wonderfully selected tracks, they’re created a body of work to explore and fascinate such incredible feelings while maintaining the heaviness fans known and love from the band.

Overall Score: 9.0/10
