Let me say first off I have witnessed these guys bust their asses to get this album done to their standards, the quality of this album is top notch and I will not ignore the effort put in, now onto the heavy heavy. Mortem Obscurem is a technical death metal band with a very strong orchestral touch. This entire album had me personally all over the place, the amount of range both in the music and the vocals gives the album a fresh sound continuously through the album, some songs have a heavy orchestra presence and some are just straight on your face aggressive, some of them have elements of both blended together which is something new to my ears.
“The 5th wheel of Iah” and “Apophis the lord of chaos” bring to light the bands pure orchestral talent which are perfectly placed among another unique 8 tracks. As a debut album these guys nailed a 10/10 from me. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did “Eternal Slaughter” and “Eradication of the Human Endeavor” are definitely my personal favorites but everything on this album is perfect. Keep your eyes on these guys.
