Based out of the United Kingdom, Slob are a brutal death metal band that make no exception in creating a groovy, swampy and shadowing albums they’ve created to date. Released on Comatose Music, this monstrous album is about to face your deepest fears, nightmares and cluster together like conspiring thieves just taking away your precious souls and start to send you in a far, distant and unknown certainty that make no compromising decisions on where and how you’ve been brought.
Everything from the bone-chilling, repugnant, depraved and unbridled savagery of unadulterated heaviness to the technical and animalistic styled vocals, this record captures the essence of the late 90’s and early 2000’s brutal death metal sound as I feel these musicians take heavy influences from Deeds Of Flesh, Mortician, Gorgasm and Lividity but in a modernized sound making every track feel filthy, slime-crawling and punishing in which this case I absolutely adore what their vision was to revitalize and capture the early brutal death metal sound.
From the despicable acts and monstrous instrumentals of tracks like Wrong Turn, Alligator Death Roll and Pitchfork Puncture Wounds, your gut will be infectious and venomous as the guitars, bass, drums and experimental vocal harmonics bring these sniggering and phlegmy atmosphere really showcases the bands finest achievements and therefore they’ve brought the steaming entrails and sickness that’ll make you demand for more with each consecutive listen. Deepwoods Shack Of Sodomy is a unmistakable, commendable, and hungering records that isn’t for shock value but if you want your music grossed out this is for you.
